CHEEK AESTHETICS (BICHECTOMY)
What is Bichectomy?
Buccal fat removal, also known as Bichectomy, is a cosmetic procedure that involves the removal of fat from the cheeks to create a slimmer and more contoured facial appearance.
Who is a Suitable Candidate?
People older than 18 with a round face and normal weight may consider a Bichectomy. However, the procedure is not suggested for people older than 45 or people who suffer from obesity or are overweight.
How is it Done?
Bichectomy is an outpatient treatment performed under local anaesthesia. The surgeon removes fat tissue inside the cheeks with small incisions to contour cheekbones. The operation is completed with a pressure bandage and usually takes 30-45 minutes, and the patient is discharged on the same day.
Aftercare
Even though it may differ depending on the patient, visible healing is possible in the first 14 days. In the first couple of days, softer and easy-to-chew foods are recommended. Mild swelling and bruising after the operation are expected. It is essential to take the antibiotics prescribed by your imi doctor. Also, keep your mouth care routine going!
